UPDATE: ICC's Collier named MACJC Coach of the Year

Itawamba Community College head baseball coach Rick Collier has won his second MACJC Coach of the Year award.
The seventh-year head coach at ICC led his fourth ranked Indians to a state title this past weekend in the Jackson area and will take a 43-11 mark into this week’s regional, hosted by number one ranked LSU-Eunice.
Collier captured his first state-wide honor by the MACJC in his first season at the helm of the Indians back in 2003 when ICC won the division, state, regional and super regional titles en route to a school record 46 wins (46-11) and a fifth place finish at the NJCAA World Series.
The Mantachie native, who was a standout at both ICC and Delta State, has now captured six north division titles in his seven years in charge of the Itawamba program.
The Indians will open Region 23 play Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. against Hinds Community College. You can continue to listen to all of the ICC post-season games on WAFM (95.7) and also on the College Web site, www.iccms.edu. Coverage from Cajun Country begins Thursday at 2:40 p.m.
