STARKVILLE — Ravern Johnson scored 18 points and four other Bulldogs finished in double figures to lead Mississippi State to a 105-53 victory over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.
Mississippi State (5-2) tied a school record with 16 3-pointers and shot 59.7 percent from the field. The offensive output, including 25 assists, was the highest for the Bulldogs this season.
St. Bonaventure (4-3) shot only 33.3 percent and finished 2-of-11 from beyond the arc. The Bonnies also had 12 turnovers.
The Bulldogs opened with a 16-2 run and dominated the first half with 9 3-pointers and 20-of-31 shooting from the field. Mississippi State led 56-22 at halftime and held the Bonnies to 31.4 percent from the field.
The Bulldogs continued their dominance in the second half, leading 81-40 midway and by as many as 55 late in the game.
Kodi Augustus and Dee Bost scored 17 points each. Bost added eight rebounds and seven assists.
Augustus’ 17 points is a season high for the forward, who served a two-game suspension earlier this season.
Jarvis Varnado added 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks, and Barry Stewart chipped in 13 points — nine in the second half.
Ogo Adegboye scored 13 points to lead the Bonnies and Malcolm Elby chipped in 10. Andrew Nicholson, who leads St. Bonaventure with 16.3 points per game this season, finished 2-of-12 with four points.
