UPDATE: MSU-South Alabama baseball game canceled

By Miss. State Athletics

STARKVILLE – Tuesday afternoon’s baseball game between Mississippi State and South Alabama has been canceled due to poor weather conditions and has been rescheduled for later in the season.

The Bulldogs and the Jaguars will now square off April 14 in a 6:30 p.m. contest at Dudy Noble Field.

“When we put together our 2010 schedule, we left the midweek open between our home SEC series with Arkansas and Tennessee for this exact purpose,” said head coach John Cohen.

MSU continues its season-opening home stand this weekend with the BankFirst Baseball Challenge. The Bulldogs host Big Ten Conference foe Michigan State and Southeast Missouri State in the three-day, double round-robin event. Michigan State and Southeast Missouri meet in Friday’s opener at 12:30 p.m. and State takes on Southeast Missouri at 4 p.m. Game times for Saturday and Sunday are set for 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Fans are reminded that basketball game day parking restrictions will be enforced for Saturday’s baseball doubleheader in advance of the home schedule-ending 5 p.m. MSU-Tennessee basketball game in Humphrey Coliseum.
