UPDATE: Raiders assistant named Millsaps coach

By The Associated Press

JACKSON — Oakland Raiders assistant coach Aaron Pelch has been named head football coach at Millsaps College in Jackson.

The announcement was made Monday.

A former Millsaps assistant, the 32-year-old Pelch was the Raiders’ assistant special teams coach.

Pelch graduated from Weber State in Utah and had coaching stops at New Mexico Highlands University and Everett Alvarez High in Salinas, Calif., before beginning a three-year stint as a Millsaps assistant in 2006.

He replaces a coach in Mike DuBose who won a school-best 76 percent of his games during his four-year reign with the Majors. DuBose led them to two Division III playoff trips and won four conference titles.

DuBose, the former Alabama coach, left in December to be an assistant at Memphis.
