OXFORD – Ole Miss could be headed to the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic for a second consecutive year.
The school had received no official word on its bid Monday, said athletics director Pete Boone, but media reports had the Rebels lined up for Dallas.
Ole Miss, which finished its season 8-4, should know something official later today.
ESPN’s Ivan Maisel sent out a Twitter message reporting that Ole Miss is headed to the Cotton Bowl, and the Tulsa World reported that the Rebels will meet Oklahoma State in the Jan. 2 game.
A meeting is set for noon Tuesday for officials representing the Bowl Championship Series games – the Rose, Orange, Fiesta and Sugar bowls – to discuss potential lineups. Non-BCS games typically fall in line soon after the the BCS schedule is complete.
