USM's Fletcher sits out Sunday’s work

HATTIESBURG – Running back Damion Fletcher “tweaked his hamstring” in a weekend scrimmage, coach Larry Fedora said.
Fletcher sat out Sunday’s Southern Miss workout.
“He was smart about it and went down immediately when he felt it, but he will be fine,” Fedora said. “We are just letting him rest it and get him ready to go.”
A freshman running back, Tracey Lampley, suffered a rib contusion late in Saturday’s scrimmage.
Fedora’s team worked out for more than two hour Sunday as they addressed some issues raised by Saturday’s scrimmage, which extended for more than 100 plays.
“Looking back at the tape, we saw some good things and, just like we thought, there were some bad things which gave us a lot to work on,” Fedora said. “We understand where we are at and we still are not where we want to be and have a long way to go.”
