CLINTON – Football coaches and administrators from Vardaman and Houlka will meet with the Mississippi High School Activities Association today to discuss their roles in an on-field brawl between players during Thursday’s 28-0 Vardaman victory.
No disciplinary action has been taken yet by the MHSAA.
“We’re still gathering information,” Todd Kelly, MHSAA’s director of communications, said on the phone Monday afternoon.
“We might have a resolution by Wednesday, but
that’s an estimation at this point.”
A brawl broke out between the Vardaman and Houlka
teams after a facemask penalty was called on Vardaman during the fourth quarter of Thursday’s MHSAA Division 1-1A football game.
The game was shortened due to the fighting.
Today’s meeting will be at the MHSAA offices in Clinton.
