Week 2: High school football scores from the future (UPDATED)

There were no “future scores” last week, mainly because I wanted to assess how the source, USA Today’s (Ken Massey) computer rankings, performed in the first week without a lot of data to work with. The formula did pretty well, hitting on about 75 percent. Much better than a coin flip.

There are a few games each week without a projected score. I suspect this is just an early season computer glitch.

Let’s take a look at some projected scores for Week 2 and how the games turned out:

South Panola 28, Hoover (Ala.) 20 (South Panola lost, 24-13)

Lafayette 34, Greenwood 0 (Lafayette 42-0)
