White’s late barrage helps Sun shine at home

Former Tupelo standout Tan White scored 11 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter Sunday as the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun snapped a twog ame
losing streak with a 96-87 victory over the Atlanta Dream.
After beating Minnesota by 29 points last Tuesday, Connecticut (17-13) lost back-to-back overtime games on the road before Sunday’s victory.
White scored eight straight points for the Sun early in the fourth period. Her 3-pointer with 5:54 left gave the Sun a 76-69 lead.
“We played a lot better today in the fourth quarter,” said White, a three-time Daily Journal player of the year and Mississippi State standout.
Two-time Journal POY Armintie Price (Myrtle, Ols Miss) scored 12 points.
