Wins against Georgia tough lately, but Ole Miss aims for one tonight

K1F3_Ole_Miss_logo.jpegAlthough Stefan Moody’s layup through traffic with 3.8 seconds left lifted Ole Miss to a comeback win in its second game in The Pavilion last year, recent history against Georgia has not been good.

The Rebels won 72-71 on Jan. 9 behind Moody’s 29 points. They lost later last season 80-66 in Athens.

Ole Miss will try to knock off Georgia again tonight. It’s a 6 p.m. tip at The Pavilion, and the game will air on ESPNU.

Moody’s shot snapped a four-game losing streak to the Bulldogs, who have won five of the last six in the series.

Ole Miss players are hoping a road win at Auburn on Saturday will help them get on a roll. The Rebels dropped their first two SEC games at home against Kentucky and at Florida.

Tonight’s game will also be the last time former Booneville standout Kenny Paul Geno, a senior at Georgia, plays college basketball in Mississippi.
