Ole Miss women host UMass at 2 p.m.
OXFORD – Coming off a narrow loss at Louisiana Tech in an environment that acting coach Brett Frank compared to the SEC, the Ole Miss women’s basketball team returns to the Tad Smith Coliseum floor today at 2 p.m. against UMass.
Ole Miss (4-2) fell 57-54 in Ruston, La.
Following today’s game, the Rebels are off a week before hosting Belmont. They then embark on a string of road and neutral site games that carry into the SEC opener at LSU on Jan. 3.
Junior college transfer guard Diara Moore leads the Rebels with 13.7 points a game, followed by junior guard Valencia McFarland at 10.0 per game.
Frank would like to see his team improve its perimeter shooting. Four of the Rebels’ top five players in three-point attempts are shooting less than 30 percent.
UMass is 2-7 after a 73-50 loss at Boston University Wednesday.
