Christian recording artist Kent Bottenfield to perform in Ripley

RIPLEY–Kent Bottenfield, a Christian recording artist and former Major League Baseball all-star for the St. Louis Cardinals, will perform at the Ripley Presbyterian Church Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m. Bottenfield pitched for the Cardinals from 1992 to 2001 and according to his website,, after a near-fatal heart condition, he became a national CCM recording artist. He said no one but God could be directing his life because he’s had no formal music training and the music ministry was certainly not his idea. amp”Baseball was my dream, amp” said Kent. amp”It was something I planned and hoped for from the age of 10. Music has been different. I did not dream of being a recording artist, and I never planned on being in the spotlight–singing, speaking, and publicly ministering to people. This music ministry is God’s plan specifically designed for me.amp” Bottenfield will speak and perform songs from his new album amp”Back in the Game.amp” Admission is fee and the public is invited to attend.
