Record number to hear Rebel coach Houston Nutt

RIPLEY–Tippah County Ole Miss Alumni Club President Kyle Smith is pleased to announce that a record number of tickets have been sold for the group’s scholarship dinner, scheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Ole Miss Head Football Coach Houston Nutt, who led the Rebels to an impressive season and a win in the 2009 Cotton Bowl in his first season at the school, is the guest speaker for the 17th Annual Scholarship Dinner. amp”As of Wednesday, a record 153 tickets had been sold for the dinner,amp” said Smith, amp”but we’ll be happy to have more than that.amp” Funds raised by the event will go to the scholarship fund, which awards a number of competitive $1,000 scholarships to Tippah County students who enroll at Ole Miss. The organization has been recognized as one of the most successful alumni associations throughout the University of Mississippi’s system. amp”The goal of the club is to one day award a scholarship to every Tippah County student that wants to attend Ole Miss,amp” Smith added. At the event, scholarships will be awarded to several students and representatives from the Ole Miss Alumni Association will be in attendance.
