Ripley shooting leaves one dead

RIPLEY – Authorities are searching for a suspect in the Monday night robbery and shooting that left a Ripley man dead. Brian Little, 30, of County Road 512, was pronounced dead at his residence about 10 p.m. Monday, said Tippah County Sheriff’s Investigator Jason Willis. Little occupied the residence with his girlfriend, who called 911 about 9:50 p.m., the investigator said. Her name is not being released at this time. “The caller said someone had come in and robbed her and her boyfriend and shot him,” Willis said. Little had died when officers arrived at the scene. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and state crime scene unit were called to help in the case. The suspect left the scene in the woman’s vehicle, which was recovered a few hours later a short distance from the home, the investigator said. “The investigation is ongoing, and there are no suspects,” Willis said. Anyone with information that could be helpful to the investigation should call Willis at the Tippah County Sheriff’s Office, (662) 837-9336, or Agent Chris Jones with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation in New Albany at (662) 534-8664.
