Minutes of the regular meeting of the board of aldermen of town of Falkner, Mississippi

FALKNER – Falkner aldermen held their regular meeting Oct. 7, 2008, at 7 p.m. The Town Clerk directed that roll of city officials be called and the following persons were present: Mayor Doyle Griffin, Aldermen Tommy LeBarreare, L.D. Hudson, Gary Bullock, Susan Rutherford, Mike McMillen, Town Clerk Colleen Weeks, Town Attorney Sean Akins, Randle Miskelley, Rodney Hilliard. – The board approved the minutes of the Sept. 2 and 9, 2008, meetings. – The board voted to retain the accounting firm of Lindsey, Davis and Caviness as the accountants for the town to perform audits and prepare financial statements for the municipal and water system accounts. – Aldermen voted to purchase a $200 advertisement for the Falkner Elementary School Harvest Festival. – The board approved the annual municipal compliance questionnaire. – Aldermen voted to pay the docket of claims. Alderwoman Susan Rutherford abstained. – Aldermen approved the long-range water system improvement plan. – Aldermen approved a resolution naming authorized representative and authorizing submittal of the loan application. The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute those documents and agreements required in connection with the application for the Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund Loan program through the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality and naming the mayor as the authorized representative for the Town of Falkner. The Town of Falkner is making application for a Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund Loan from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. In order to apply for such a loan, the Town of Falkner must submit a Water Pollution Control application package in compliance with Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund Loan Program Regulations. Regulations require that the Town of Falkner provide as part of such package a certified copy of a resolution which authorizes submission of the application and which designates an authorized representative to execute the application and to be authorized representative for the project. Aldermen authorized submission of the Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund Loan application package with the proceeds from such loan to be used to finance and implement Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund Loan Program project SRFC280891-01. Mayor Doyle Griffin, being the chief executive officer of the Town of Falkner, was authorized to execute and file an application for a State Revolving Fund loan on behalf of the Town of Falkner with full authority to execute all documents pertaining to the project. Sean Akins and Keith Kimmery. – Aldermen approved the minutes of the Oct. 7, 2008, meeting. – Aldermen approved the claims for payment. Falkner aldermen met Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at 6 p.m. The following persons were present: Mayor Doyle Griffin, Aldermen Tommy LaBarreare, L.D. Hudson, Gary Bullock, Susan Rutherford, Mike McMillen, Town Clerk Colleen Weeks, Town Attorney B. Sean Akins and Keith Kimmery. – Aldermen approved the minutes of the Nov. 4, 2008, meeting. – Aldermen approved the claims for payment. – The board meeting was adjourned.
