On Friday, start working toward a change of heart and a better life

It’s the new year. Why not work toward a new you? The Southern Sentinel’s “Get Fit, Stay Fit Club” competition begins Friday, Jan. 9 and ends May 30. In this event, the person who loses the most weight will win a cash prize. We’re not blowing our own horn here. The newspaper doesn’t get much out of this program. The real winners will be those who sign up, and the better life they gain for themselves because of the weight they lose. This event is intended to be a friendly competition, giving extra motivation to those in our community who are working toward improved fitness. To participate, all contestants will need to attend private weigh-ins at the Southern Sentinel office beginning Jan. 9 and 10. The one-time sign-up fee makes up the cash award the winner receives at the end of the competition. And no, we don’t run the weights in the newspaper. If you can’t make these dates, call us and we’ll schedule a weigh-in time. Why not lose those extra pounds, and perhaps gain some extra cash in the process? Grab a friend and come by our office to sign-up. Want a “change of heart?” Sign up, lose weight, and you’ll have it. You’ll let your heart work less hard, since it won’t have to pump blood to all that weight you lost.. You’ll be thinner and happier. Ask anyone who ever lost weight and kept it off And when you’re happy, the world’s a better place…
