Holy week worship services set in Ripley

RIPLEY – The Ripley Presbyterian Church announces the annual Community Holy Week Noonday Worship Services on April 6-8, Monday through Wednesday, featuring special music and messages from local churches. The services are designed to provide an opportunity for all members of the community to worship and eat lunch together between noon and 1 p.m. each day. Worship will begin at noon in the Ripley Presbyterian Church Sanctuary and conclude about 12:30 p.m. Worshippers are then invited to bring a sack lunch to the Gregg Center across the parking lot from the Sanctuary where the Presbyterian Women’s Circles will provide chips, drinks, and desserts each day. “This annual worship and fellowship event, which has been sponsored by the Ripley Presbyterian Church for more than 30 years, celebrates the wonderful ecumenical spirit in our community as we commemorate the annual Holy Week leading up to Good Friday and Easter,” said Rev. Bill Connolly, who is pastor of Ripley Presbyterian Church. The order of worship each day will include an invocation, hymn, special music, Scripture reading, meditation, closing prayer, and blessing for the fellowship meal that follows worship each day. Each service will feature guest ministers, soloists, and musicians from the community. Dr. Jeremy Owens, Director of Music for the Ripley Presbyterian Church, will present preludes, postludes, and a congregational hymn each day using piano and Ripley’s only pipe organ. Rev. Connolly, will serve as host. Everyone is cordially invited to join this community event commemorating Holy Week. The Ripley Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Pine, Cooper, and Jackson Streets. The phone number is 662-837-3765.
