ST trustees fund annual Summer Feeding program

RIPLEY—The South Tippah School Board took care of the following items of business during their meeting earlier this month. The board: –Employed Katie Waldon as a teacher assistant at Ripley High School. –Approved Kalee Beth Hall as a district substitute teacher. –Employed Donna Bryant as a core subject tutor. –Sold a 1977 GMC pick-up located at Blue Mountain School to Max Hill for $227. Hill submitted the higher of two bids for the truck. –Approved a budget amendment reflecting receipt of $35,441 as the final insurance settlement for the Blue Mountain Elementary School fire. –Granted permission for Food Service Director Beverly Baylis to use child nutrition funds to start the district’s annual Summer Feeding program. The funds will be replaced with money collected during the summer program. –Approved a policy about adopting policies. –Adopted a final Instructional Staff Reduction in Force policy. –Approved Educational Material Specialist, Inc., as a single source for monitoring progress on MCT2 and SATP tests.
