New plant to begin at Oil-Dri

RIPLEY – A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held early in June for the new Verge™ plant at Oil-Dri Production Company, according to the Tippah County Development Foundation. The ceremony will take place Thursday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at the plant on Miss. 15 North in Ripley. Corporate representatives from Chicago, including Dan Jaffee, President & CEO, will be attending along with representatives from the Governor’s office, Congressional delegations, Legislative offices, regional development organizations, and city and county elected officials. The new facility will focus on production of engineered granular products. The Verge product line will enable Oil-Dri to market these products to new and existing clientele that demand precision products for use in their applications. Oil-Dri has developed a proprietary process for this new plant that will produce precision granules to meet these market demands. Oil-Dri has been in business in Ripley and Tippah County for over 60 years and has provided quality products in the areas of oil absorption, cat litter, agricultural carriers, animal health, and sports field and turf products throughout the years. Oil-Dri will take advantage of the many programs that are offered through the Tippah County Development Foundation, the Mississippi Development Authority, and the Northeast Mississippi Community College, as they continue to grow and hire new employees. Duane Bullard, President/CEO of the Tippah County Development Foundation, expressed his appreciation to Oil-Dri for their willingness to continue to invest in their future by providing opportunities for the people of Tippah County and for being an anchor institution in Tippah County for more than 60 years. “Oil-Dri is proof that even in trying economic times, good business decisions will prosper,” Bullard said.
