Wrapping up the day that was from DJournal.com and elsewhere.
• Stat check – Brandon Speck‘s column today urged some holdouts among Mississippi’s high school coaches to get with the program and submit stats to MaxPreps.com. It’s certainly better than when I was covering high schools, and that’s one thing I loved about being a college beat writer: You got all the stats you wanted brought right to your press box seat or laptop.
• Top teacher – New Albany’s Mary Margarett King was named the 2014 Teacher of the Year for Mississippi. Give that woman a raise!

• Moncrief needs to toughen up (Inside Ole Miss Sports) – The all-knowing Mel Kiper projects Ole Miss receiver Donte Moncrief as a solid second-round pick. I’m sure that won’t change between now and draft day.
• ALL THE GUNS – Georgia has passed a law making it legal to possess guns in bars, libraries, churches, etc. I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve noticed some pretty shady characters in libraries. No, seriously. My wife once had her iPhone stolen from the children’s section.
