Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay likely boosted his NFL draft stock on Tuesday at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.

Slay ran an official 4.36 in the 40-yard dash - fastest of all the cornerbacks tested on Tuesday. Alabama’s Dee Milliner, regarded as a potential top-10 pick, was second in 4.37.

“Slay was a star,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

Teammate Johnthan Banks ran the 40 in 4.61 which NFL.com’s Marc

Sessler called “one of the more disappointing runs of the session.”

Former LSU corner Tyrann Mathieu, who was out of football last season, ran a 4.50.

MSU defensive lineman Josh Boyd worked out on Monday and finished

fourth in the bench press with 32 reps.
