The Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau voted unanimously today to approve up to $429,000 in additional funding for the Tupelo aquatic center. The additional funds will be used to enhance the facility with state of the art timing systems and additional equipment.

The official request outlines the expenses:

- $260,000 – Scoreboard/Timing System by Colorado Time Systems

- $130,000 – Bleachers, Lockers and Additional Equipment

- $39,000 - Architectural and engineering fee

The CVB will not pay the expenses up front but will make the money available to the City as expenses actualize. CVB Executive Director Neal McCoy said that this further demonstrates their commitment to supporting the youth sports market.
