The session was closed to the press, but official MSU athletic blogger Bob Carskadon reported that both cornerback Johnthan Banks (Maben) and receiver Chad Bumphis (Tupelo) ran 40-yard dashes that were unofficially timed in “in the low 4.5s.”
Banks tweeted this: “Much better day today!”
Banks ran a 4.61 in the 40 at the NFL Combine, while Bumphis was not invited to that event.
“I think they were a little surprised by how fast I ran,: Bumphis told MSU’s web site.
MSU’s Darius Slay, the fastest defensive back at the combine, sat out most of the drills.
According to the SEC office, the Ole Miss Pro Day is today.
