ABERDEEN – The Monroe County Sheriff Office now has a van to help with its litter program.

Mississippi Department of Transportation assistant district maintenance engineer Matt Dunn delivered the 2005 Dodge Caravan to

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell around Christmas.

Cantrell actually bought the van at an MDOT auction for $1. Because Monroe County participates in MDOT’s Inmate Litter Removal

Partnership program, the MCSO was eligible to participate.
