Sword is averaging 17 points and 3.5 rebounds in MSU’s first two SEC games, both wins. The 6-foot-3 guard had a career-high 18 points in Wednesday’s 56-54 win over South Carolina, then notched 16 points, four rebounds and two steals in a 72-61 victory at Georgia.
On the season, Sword is averaging 9.6 points and has a team-high 28 steals.
He’s the second Bulldog to earn the freshman honor this season. Center Gavin Ware won it Dec. 24.
