A woman was cut in the throat area by another female after an alleged altercation around noon Saturday. It appears this was not a random incident and the two individuals knew each other, but that and other parts of the case are still under investigation.
The victim was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center and her injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
After the incident the female suspect left the scene in a white cargo van with another individual. The female suspect was taken into custody late Saturday night.
Clayton said more information about the arrest and case would be released Monday.
