Hamilton man arrested on drug charges

According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Tyler Owen Ott, 20, of Hamilton has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) and possession of a controlled substance inside a correctional facility following a traffic stop March 16.

The release states the MCSO and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit had a safety checkpoint set up on Caledonia Road. When Ott arrived, agents found marijuana and crack cocaine in his possession.

He was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Detention Center. No bond has been set at this time
