BOONEVILLE - James Franklin "Frank" O'Callaghan, 68, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at his home. He was a member of St Luke United Methodist Church in Tupelo and he retired from Malco, Inc.
Services will be at 11a.m. Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Shane Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Elizabeth O'Callaghan of Pontotoc; three daughters, Tammy (Dean) Thornton, Theresa (Macky) Barnes and Tonja (Jeff) Pannell, all of Booneville; one sister, Beth Pate of Tupelo; two Brothers, Pat and Gene O'Callaghan both of Tupelo; eight grandchildren, Deena Mayo, BB Barnes, J.M. Pannell, William Pannell, D.J. Thornton, Haley Thornton, Hanna Thornton and Hagen Thornton; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Matti Mayo; three step-sisters, Janet, Rhonda and Karen; and a special friend, Wayne Holley.
Pallbearers will be Dean Thornton, Jeff Pannell, Macky Barnes, Wayne Holley, Bobby Joe Griffin and Lewis Stevens.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

PONTOTOC - Paula Sue Windham, 56, died Oct. 22, 2010, in Pontotoc. She was a graduate of Pontotoc High School Class of 1972, a MUW graduate and a biology teacher at New Albany High School.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Ecru City Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Mansfield (Jay); grandchildren Hunter and Payton Wright and Sarah and Danielle Mansfield; her mother, Betty Sue Windham of Pontotoc; a brother, Wally Windham (Linda) of Pontotoc; nieces Lacey, Emily Claire and Rachel Windham; and one nephew, James McKinley Windham, all of Pontotoc.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Windham, and her grandparents, Jewell and Ella Neal Windham and Dixon and Opal McCord.
Honorary pallbearers will be New Albany High School students and colleagues.

PISGAH - Betty Miller Gifford, 67, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at her home. She was a member of Mayfield Church of Christ and a retired secretary from the Mississippi State University Extension Service.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Terry Gifford Jr.; one brother, L.E. Miller of Tucson, Ariz.; a host of nieces and nephews; and special caregivers Christie Smith and Shannon Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Viola Miller.

HOULKA - James Roger Chrestman, 71, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born June 19, 1939, in Houlka to James Wilson Chrestman and Ruby Lane Burt Chrestman. He was disabled.

Survivors include his niece, Julie Tinsley Jones and Steven of Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; and his nephew, James Paul Tinsley and Amy of Saltillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Sandra Tinsley.

NEW ALBANY - Bessie Jewel Witt, 96, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County. She was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Blue Springs to William Washington Thornton and Rheta Jane Branyan Thornton. She was a homemaker and a member of Academy Baptist Church.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. James Lewis and the Rev. Terry Hall officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Lee Griffin (Bob) of Booneville; two stepsons, Vance Witt (Tootsie) of New Albany and Bobby Witt (Nellie) of Tupelo; three sisters, Mabel Rakestraw of New Albany, Vivian Bailey of Wallerville and Nadine Duncan of Baldwyn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ervin Moore; her second husband, V.C. Witt; two sisters, Virgie Thornton and Mary Langford; six brothers, Clyde, Bon, Ted, Carl, Ralph and John Thornton; and her stepdaughter, Betty Barkley.

OAKLAND, Tenn. - Fay Caldwell Wilder, 85, native of Pontotoc County, died Oct. 22, 2010, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Peebles West Funeral Home Chapel of Oakland, Tenn.
HATLEY - Arice Marvin Basham, 83, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at his home. Born on June 13, 1927, in Hamilton, he was a son of Robert Winston and Zaddie Lorene Nix Basham. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. A jack-of-all-trades, he worked as a welder and a heavy equipment operator before owning and operating grocery stores in Becker and Amory. Outspoken, his priority was his family, especially spoiling his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and listening to Country Bluegrass. He was a former deacon at First Assembly of God and had earned his priesthood with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A devoted husband, he had lived in Kenosha, Wis., Smithville and Becker before moving to Hatley. Attending Becker schools, he was proud of receiving his GED at age 61.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley and Bishop Gene Voyles officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Center Hill Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by a daughter, Marcell (Wayne) Senter of Iuka; sons Jimmie (Linda) Basham of Waynesboro, Tenn., Tommie (Penny) Basham of New Hampshire, Dewayne (Cynthia) Basham of Hatley and Randall (Margie) Basham of the Philippines; sisters, Ann McCauley of Madison, Fay Conners of Aberdeen, Joyce King of Amory, Linda Hall of Tupelo, Ala Ree Smith of Wren and Sara Simmons of Vicksburg; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant sons, Bobby Joe and Billy Ray Basham; a daughter, Gloria Kay Jones; brothers Horace, Arlin Lee and Charles Hubert Basham; brothers-in-law Curtis Smith, Dub McCauley and Jimmy Hall; a great-granddaughter, Sidney Robertson; and granddaughters Brandie Maschell Basham and Vivian Basham.
Pallbearers will be David, Jonathan, Jeff and Steven Basham, Kevin Senter and Kerr Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Basham, Joel Robertson and Bo Johnson.
