Komen activities end cancer awareness month

IUKA - The month-long "Paint the Town Pink" breast cancer awareness and fundraising effort for the Susan G. Komen Foundation draws to a close Saturday with several events.

A Walk for the Cure to honor survivors begins at 9 a.m. on the walking track at Highway 172/Quitman and Kaki Streets, beside the Tishomingo Living Center.

Events continue at noon at the Old Tishomingo County Courthouse, Quitman at Fulton Street, with a chili lunch and bake sale, and an auction of local merchandise and baskets.
