BOONEVILLE – Ballots are ready and the Prentiss County Circuit Clerk’s office will be open 8 a.m.-noon Saturday for absentee voting.

Two issues face residents, and they will have to vote two ballots to have a say on both matters.

The runoff election for superintendent of Prentiss County schools is set for Nov. 23 between Randle Downs or Kenneth Chism, the top two vote-getters in the Nov. 2 general election.

A countywide liquor referendum election is set for Dec. 14.

The ballot allows voters to vote “for” or “against” the issue of “whether or not the sale, distribution and possession of alcoholic liquors shall be permitted in Prentiss County.”

Absentee voters may cast ballots through noon Nov. 20 in the superintendent election and through noon Dec. 11 in the liquor referendum.
