UPDATE: Man dies in wreck, power restored in Tupelo

TUPEL0 – A Tupelo man died Thursday night of natural causes while driving his car.

According to Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine-Green, Tommy Richey, 57, died of natural causes around 9 p.m.

His car struck a guy wire and wound up coming to a stop in the tennis courts on Lawndale Drive near President’s Gate, according to police.

Power was out in a portion of Tupelo due to the wreck. At 10:30 p.m. Tupelo Water & Light was still fixing the affected light pole, but power was returned.
