TUPELO – It’s called “Thespian-palooza,” and it’s designed to entertain you.

Past and current members of Tupelo High School Thespian Troupe 1949 will show off their talents, and you’ll get dessert, too.

The event will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the lobby of the THS Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5.

“We’ll have scenes, monologues and songs from students and special guests,” said Allana Austin, THS drama instructor.

Each year, the thespians compete at state, regional and national festivals, but most people don’t get to see those performances. “Thespian-palooza” is a chance to see award-winning acting and singing.

“During Act 1, you’ll see what we do at a competition level,” Austin said.

Act 2 will be feature Christmas-themed performances.

“It’s going to get you in the Christmas spirit,” Austin said.

Audience members will get soft drinks and dessert, and the $5 ticket will help make it possible for thespians to attend future theater competitions. For information, call (662) 840-1841.

“We’re going to have some surprises, too,” Austin said.
