JACKSON — Portions of southern Mississippi and Louisiana were under a hard freeze watch Sunday into early Monday.

Also Sunday, portions of north Mississippi, which got as much as an inch of snow on Saturday, were under a winter weather advisory until late afternoon.

Central Mississippi could be expected to get a minor dusting of snow with no significant accumulations.

In south areas of Louisiana and Mississippi, the weather service was expecting temperatures in the teens Sunday night and 20s on Monday night.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation urges drivers to be careful.
