Leslie Frazier, a Columbus native who played at Alcorn State, has agreed to become the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, according to the Star Tribune of Minneapolis.

Frazier, the team’s defensive coordinator, was named Minnesota’s interim coach on Nov. 22, a day after Brad Childress was fired. The team was 3-7 at that point and finished up the season 3-3 under Frazier, including Sunday’s 20-13 loss to Detroit.

Other NFL vacancies are expected to be created, as soon as today. Some estimates suggest a dozen coaches may wind up getting fired.
