The Oxford Eagle reports Willie A. Canon entered the plea Wednesday in the death of Derald "Pete" Connell.
Canon pleaded guilty to murder and two counts of burglary. Circuit Judge Andrew Howorth sentenced Canon to life on the murder count and 25 years on the burglary charges to run consecutively.
Prosecutors say Canon was one of four men who broke into Connell's home and beat him to death.
Trials are pending for three others in the case.
