The driver of a red Ford F-150 was able to walk away from a one-vehicle wreck on Hwy. 45 in Tupelo on Thursday.

The truck went down an embankment and landed upside down in a creek. The accident was near the bridge located between the Main Street and Eason Boulevard exits in the southbound lane.

The driver was eventually able to free himself from the vehicle and walk up the hill to flag down help. He was sent to NMMC. An update on his condition wasn't available.

Traffic was slowed and stopped at times as Tupelo police officers blocked traffic from the right lane as workers from J&A Towing worked to get the vehicle up the hill.

Traffic is now back to normal.
