The jury deliberated less than two hours on Saturday before finding 24-year-old Victor Trezevant guilty of murder in the perpetration of an attempted robbery. Taylor Bradford was shot in 2007 outside his on-campus apartment.
The Commercial Appeal reported that Trezevant was automatically sentenced to life in prison.
According to police Trezevant and three others were in on a plan to rob Bradford of the $7,400 he had won at a Tunica, Miss., casino. Trezevant was identified as the triggerman during the weeklong trial by a co-defendant, Daeshawn Tate.
