The Tupelo Police Department Criminal Investigation Division has charged Kevin Crawford and Antonio Smith with Burglary of an Auto (three counts).

Investigators believe Crawford and Smith may ultimately be responsible for at least 12 auto burglaries in Tupelo.

The majority of the crimes occurred in west Tupelo. The brothers would target vehicles parked in driveways with items in plain view.

The Investigators have recovered some of the stolen property, including several guns and have returned the recovered items to the victims.

Crawford, 22, of Tupelo had bond set at $150,000. Smith, 24, of Shannon had bond set at $30,000.

Crawford is currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for Burglary of an Auto.

The Plantersville Police Department and the Lee County Sheriffs’ Office assisted in the investigation.
