JACKSON, Tenn. - Blue Mountain College posted its first win in the new baseball program here Wednesday, taking a 7-5 win over Lambuth University in the second game of an NAIA doubleheader.

In the opening game, Lambuth picked up its first win of the season by knocking off BMC, 12-2.

Blake Jolly crushed a two-run triple in the Toppers' four-run sixth inning to seal the victory. BMC is now 1-3 and Lambuth is 1-6.

Jon Paul Barber picked up the win for the Toppers, scattering 10 hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking two.

In the opening game, Seth Kennedy paced BMC, going three-for-three and banging out the Toppers' first-ever triple. Kennedy scored BMC's first run of its program in the third inning after a single to centerfield by Dustin Lunn. B.J. Johnson was stuck with the loss for the Toppers. Cody Brownlee had a double among BMC's 8 hits.

The Toppers play their first home game at 5 p.m. Friday against Tougaloo College at the New Albany Sportsplex. BMC and Tougaloo will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday.
