OXFORD – The Ole Miss women’s basketball team will try to snap a five-game losing streak tonight but faces a very difficult task – No. 4 Tennessee.

It is the final home game for the Rebels (10-16, 3-11 SEC), and seniors Kayla Melson and Tori Slusher will be honored. Tipoff at Tad Smith Coliseum is 7 p.m.

In addition, “seniors” of 55 years and older will be admitted free.

Melson remains the team’s leading scorer at 15.6 points a game, but she’s missed the last five games with an injury. The last game in which Melson played was a 61-59 Ole Miss win at Florida on Feb. 3.

Tennessee and Ole Miss also played on Jan. 9 with Tennessee winning 86-46 in Knoxville.

The Lady Vols (26-2, 14-0 SEC) have three players averaging double-figure points, led by forward Meighan Simmons at 14.3 points a game.

Tennessee leads the SEC in scoring at 78.6 points a game while holding opponents to 54.9 points.

The Lady Vols have won the last 20 games in the series with Ole Miss.
