The shooting occurred on North Spring Street around 12:30 p.m. before the victim ran to North Green Street.
One person has been injured and taken to the hospital. No official word on the injury.
A scanner report said the injury was to the victim's arm.
Police are looking for Corey Fair, 38, of Tupelo. Fair is believed to have left the scene in a maroon Buick.
