Owner of pit bulls faces court appearance next week

PONTOTOC – An arraignment is set next week for Casey Swanson, who faces a manslaughter charge after his pit bulls killed a man in January.

Swanson was indicted Wednesday and will appear before a judge on Monday. He was arrested and is being held in the Pontotoc Adult Detention Center.

Because he has a hold on him from the Mississippi Department of Corrections for a probation violation, he will go directly to arraignment before a circuit judge.

Swanson's tenant, Ronnie Waldo, was killed Jan. 26 after being attacked by the dogs.
