TUPELO – Bond was denied Wednesday for a man charged with killing a Lee County woman Tuesday.

Keith Darby, 30, is charged with murder and kidnapping in the shooting death of 23-year-old Shirley Morris at her home on Green Tee Road early Tuesday morning.

He also is accused of kidnapping her aunt and child.

Johnson said Morris was shot in the head. Her aunt and child were in the home at the time of the shooting.

Darby allegedly forced Morris’ aunt to drive him away from the scene.

The woman reportedly called the police after she drove away from a gas station as the suspect went in to pay.

Tupelo police responded to the call and contacted the sheriff’s department.
