SOUTHAVEN - The state auditor's office is looking into travel and other expenses related to Southaven Mayor Greg Davis' 2010 trip to an Arizona clinic for stress/anger management counseling.

Earlier this week, Davis repaid the city $12,995 for the trip, which totaled $27,105.

Davis said the city sends its police officers and other workers to anger management training, so the trip was not unusual.

Davis said he took job-related sessions on resolving conflict, interpersonal communication skills and how to get a healthy perspective on emotions - group courses paid for by the city. He says he paid for individual courses that be described as "personal."

Davis and his wife separated earlier this year and he said this has also been a stressful time for his family.
