The hearing before the board of education will involve testimony, and Todd and her attorney Jim Waide have requested the meeting be open to the public.
Todd was relieved of her duties prior to the spring break week and a new principal was named for the school.
Corlis Curry, who has served as assistant principal at East Amory Elementary School for three years and who has 13 years of experience in education replaced Todd.
Amory Schools Superintendent Dr. Gearl Loden, and Special Education Coordinator Dr. Candace Moore would not elaborate on the reason for Todd’s departure from the school.
Loden said it was a “personnel matter” and he could not confirm nor deny any details pertaining to the change in administration at the school.
Sources close to the situation said Todd’s dismissal had to do with the disciplining of a student.
