JACKSON - Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann says he'll soon give voters an education about three petition initiatives that will be on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.

Lawmakers decided not to offer competing language for the voter identification, eminent domain and anti-abortion proposals.

Hosemann says his office will now prepare arguments for and against each ballot initiative. He says pamphlets will be distributed across the state in the next few months.

The voter ID proposal received support from the Mississippi Republican Party. The Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation sponsored the initiative that would prohibit the government from taking private property for various developments. And, Les Riley of Pontotoc pushed the proposed constitutional amendment that would declare life begins at conception.
