BLUFFTON, S.C. — Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour has picked up a straw poll win during his two-day swing through South Carolina.

Barbour won Friday night's Republican County GOP convention straw poll with 22 percent of the vote. He was the only candidate in waiting to attend the convention.

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann was in South Carolina, too, at a private fundraising event for her re-election campaign. She placed a distant fourth with 9 percent behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorurm and millionaire developer Donald Trump.

Barbour was making stops at GOP conventions in Lexington and Columbia on Saturday.

Bachmann was speaking to tea party groups in Bluffton. A crowd of more than 200 was on hand for a morning speech.
