Ingomar’s Molly Hale in state golf tournament

The MHSAA girls state golf championships are scheduled to be played today and Thursday at Whisper Lakes Country Club in Madison.

In last year’s tournament, Ingomar’s Molly Hale led the Class I competition by five strokes after the first day.

However, she lost to St. Patrick’s Jessica Parker by one stroke on the final 18 holes at Patrick Farms in Brandon.

Hale, a freshman, returns to make another run at the championship, as does Parker.

The other Northeast Mississippi qualifiers in Class I competition are:

Kossuth: Amanda Essary, Raven McCalla, Bradi Reader.

West Union: Allie Newby, Bailey Bates, Mallory Newby.

The area qualifiers in Class II competition are:

Tupelo: Kathleen Reynolds, Mallory Lesley, Smith Ann Chiles.

Itawamba AHS: Carlee Nanney.

New Albany: Summer Sanderson. Lauren Dunlap, Lenzi Sanderson.
