The total of entries exceeded 1,000 on Tuesday and it’s expected that as many as 1,100 runners may line up for the start. Last year’s race attracted 881 entries.
“The number of entries is up more than it has been in 16 years,” said race coordinator Amy Smith.
Online registration is available at www.coke10k.com and is $20. The walk-up registration fee on Saturday is $25.
In addition to a surge in interest, the forecast - clear, little chance of rain – bodes well for this year’s race. Last year’s event was run under a tornado watch in advance of the flooding rains that socked downtown Corinth later that day.
As in past years, the race will begin in front of KC’s Espresso at 415 North Fillmore. The finish has been changed slightly, with the race ending at the Coca-Cola plant on the aptly named Foote St.
