Remember the old Chinese curse: “May you live in interesting times.”
Interesting times aren’t always easy times.
Newspapers understand this, which is why most include a comics page.
In theory, the funny pages offer a temporary antidote to the serious issues of the day. It brings to mind Mary Poppins’ suggestion: “Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.”
The Mighty Daily Journal’s “sugar” is delivered by “Hagar the Horrible,” “Dilbert,” “Blondie,” “The Wizard of Id” and others.
But comics are a matter of taste. One person’s sugar could be another’s medicine.
With that in mind, the Daily Journal is coming to you, dear reader, to find out what you like and don’t like.
Please, take a few moments with the comics survey, where you can praise your favorites and trash the overrated.
With luck, the results will be interesting.
Entries should be submitted by Monday, June 6, at noon. The results will run in the Living section on Sunday, June 12.Submit completed survey:
